St Andrews Place

Welcome to the St. Andrews Retirement Community website! We hope you find the information here helpful in your search for a retirement community.

We are a Continuum of Care private community. Our campus of 46 acres includes 75 condominiums for Independent Living, 73 apartments for Assisted Living, and a 50-bed Nursing/ Rehabilitation Center. The St. Andrews Retirement Community has the distinction of being a Certified Continuing Care Retirement Community, one of the few in the State of Kentucky.

St. Andrews owes its existence to the personal and financial sacrifices of many people over many years. A bequest to the First Presbyterian Church of Richmond, Kentucky provided the vision for what eventually became St. Andrews Retirement Community. The will of Stephen McCready specified the bequest be used “to found or enlarge or endow a nursing and retirement community,” in loving memory of his wife Isabelle Bennett McCready. First Baptist Church, First Methodist Church and First Christian Church, all of Richmond, KY, joined First Presbyterian Church under the guidance of Dr. William R. Young, Jr., pastor of the church, in the venture.

A Board of Directors comprised of three members each from our four sponsoring churches governs the St. Andrews Community. We are fortunate to have a host of volunteers that help make St. Andrews Retirement Community a wonderful place to live. Our residents see familiar faces as we have many dedicated individuals with employment records of 5, 10, or even 15 years of service. This dedication of volunteers and employees makes St Andrews more than just a retirement community they help make it a home regardless of your level of care.

If you are looking for an adventure or history or entertainment all is within a few miles of St. Andrews Retirement Community. Eastern Kentucky University and Berea College are located in the same county. EKU has just opened a performing arts center that provides concerts, ballet, Broadway plays, and speaking engagements. Madison County has Fort Boonesborough State Park and the Civil War Battle of Richmond museum and re-enactment Do you need more? We are conveniently located off I-75 and just south of I-64. Lexington, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Knoxville are all within an easy day trip.
